4TH JOINT ECONOMIC BRIEFING
Foreign Direct Investments in the Phils:
Opening Roads

19 June 2018 (Tuesday11am to 2pm
Makati Diamond Residences

Reported Foreign Direct Investments (FDIS) last year totalled US$10 billion, 21.4 % higher than the previous year.  As such, the year 2018 opened with such optimism on the influx of FDIs.  However, several factors are exerting a downward pressure on FDIs:  higher inflation due to the implementation of the tax reform law, rising prices of petroleum products, to name a few.

Join us on the 19th of June 2018, from 11am to 2pm at Makati Diamond Residences, as we bring together some bright minds: Department of Finance Undersecretary Karl Chua and DTI Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo (invited) to talk about what’s in store for foreign investors here in the Philippines. With the current aggressive stance of the government, roads are opening for foreign investors, but sustainability is critical. Representatives from various industries will also be sharing their experiences and insights on current government policies and initiatives that either support or go against their goals for achieving profitability. Confirmed speakers from the private sector are Mr Sim Hwee Ping of Acciona Infrastructuras, Mr Teddy Reyes of Philippine Institute of Petroleum, and Mr Rufino Bomasang of the Petroleum Association of the Philippines.  The Briefing will be moderated by Atty. Tony Abad, CEO of Trade Advisors/Trade Lawyers.
